Here is my new Sharp GF 8989 HB, bought from a german site
    All clean and nice
Was sent to a friend who completely serviced and cleaned it, set to service manual specs, settings etc, new belts, bath..
Now it looks amazing and sounds brillant! Sound is very good, clear and loud, good bass too
I bought this nice mouse pad to match it, also the little sticker
    I love it forever!!

With my extensive knowledge of sharp models of boomboxes, I have avoided this model and others like it that use the soft touch controls for the operation of the tape deck because it's more difficult to repair because of the soft touch controls. I'm just saying that I could have had this model many times over but I simply didn't ever get one. I had a sharp gf-8787 that I repaired and then I sold. You can see a video about that somewhere.

The GF Series has mostly escaped me, I've been really close to getting one or similar models, but the ones around here have been used extensively and all seem to be missing parts. I'm just looking around my office, I think my Sony FH's and a couple other Sony's are the only soft-touch I have, oh yea, the big Sharp VZ has it and maybe a JVC? A "Soft-Touch" Thread might be a good idea to see how many there were.
