New kid on the block - with an idea

Hey everyone,
I've been a member for a few months now - more of a reader than a convo starter.

Ive been collecting since 2020 and have amassed more boomboxes than I could have imagined when I first started.

Lately, my love for this “sport” has led me to start a special boombox project that I can’t wait to share with collectors worldwide. I don’t want to give away too much just yet, but after nearly a year of work, I’m about 65% of the way there.

Here’s where you come in—I’d love to feature photos from members of this forum! Specifically, I’m looking for pictures of you back in the '80s holding your boombox. That’s it! Just include your name, city, and the year the photo was taken.

It’s an awesome chance to be part of something big (at least that’s the goal!).

Great idea! Unable to contribute anything myself though as I too am "new" and did not have any boombox back then. Let alone a picture. I wonder how many pics are out there in dusty old photo albums.

 

I'm afraid I can't help.

An occasion I regret not having a photo of is when a friend, who was a massive Wham fan, decided it would be a great idea if we took my boombox to Weston Super Mare (U.K.) and walked up and down outside the Tropicana outdoor swimming pool blasting out Wham's "Club Tropicana".

 

All good gents, I've collected 9 photos from collectors that have shared their photos on a Facebook Boombox group. They happily permitted me to use it.

I need 7 more photos.

I've seen threads in this forum of people sharing old photos from the 80s but for the life of my cannot find the thread )

That's quite the needle in the haystack. I tried to search for keywords but my search wasn't sucessful.
