    Hi there
Ok so I’ve got a song wa6000 the radio works but not the cassette player
The belt had perished and melted around the spindle on the motor I cleaned all that up and the motor works when power is applied to it from another source but not when you press play also the right channel of the headphone does not work I have the service manual and multi meter just wondering the best way to get it running

Welcome! Take it apart and start looking around. Headphone jacks take a lot of abuse, look for broken wires or corroded ends (greenish build-up). The switch that the play button is activating might not be making proper contact, the SM should show what contacts to make the motor run. Try to find it and start it manually. Other than that it's hard to diagnose without seeing the inside and taking some readings. That's a great unit, I hope to find one, one of these days.

    Hi x
Thanks for that I’ve already taken it apart and had a good look around
The play button switch is working and the motor will work when it’s power is applied directly it must be something in the servo board I’ve done a basic continuity test but no joy nothing seems to have blown I’m suspecting it’s the voltage regulator I will check The readings from that and go from there hate being defeated ! It would be a lot easier if I knew the exact component that’s failed just solder in a new one
