Hi new member here. I'm located in Denver, CO USA and have been restoring vintage audio as a hobby for about 10 years. This is my first foray into Walkmans and SMD soldering.

I recently acquired a Sony WM-D6 that would not play. After replacing the belt and exercising the FF/RW pivot it started playing but was muffled and would start playing fast. I'll post the rest of my saga in the Walkman thread.

Welcome to the forum! My Mate Vince on Youtube has done a few Walkmans with SMD, starting from beginner, he's moved up and makes it look easy now. He may have some tricks and techniques for you, he did several of them a couple years ago.
