At least not since today morning. It was quiet, but today (I took it out, it's a little cold here, was about 6C) it started to squeak (gears squeaks when they move). When it starts to play (engage), when play it's still silent. When disengage (stops), when ff or rew it's sqeaks very loudly. Whan can I do? I hear that only one side is silent when in play. I think it's sound from the motor. And when pressing play it looks like the capstans.
I thought why not to try and oiled capstans. Wow, what a difference. At least playing is silent*, I think gears (rotors) would be happy to have some lubrication too. I don't know anything about that so I will have learn. * Probably used a bit too much oil, cleaned but I hear more of wow and flutter. Cleaned it again, it seems ok.
