It just started working finally. I don't know. Maybe I shouldn't be starting a thread. 17260865598804390039242161416898.jpg

Back uses six D batteries. Auto stop works for the cassette in play mode. As it just kicked off.
I'm going to open the back of this anyway. I want to see why it took so long for the cassette deck to start working as it wouldn't work when I first tried playing it. Now it works fine seemingly
Edit after removing six same size screws and opening the cassette deck door. Then the front comes open and looks like this

One plug for the speaker. Only three wires and you can remove the front.

Next, you have to carefully unclip the tuning information window. The metal part carefully said that already to be able to remove the cassette deck which is held in place by looks like four red screws.

Next, all you need to do is remove the two screws holding the part that the tuner string indicator travels on and it's just a piece of plastic held in place by the two screws and then you can remove the tape deck and flip it over, but leave the string alone. Don't touch the string and then you can see it looking like this 17260880066704118484342600449377.jpg
I just discovered that this is has a square belt where a flat belt should be. In other words, it has the wrong kind of belt in here while it works and that belt is really tight. It's maybe too tight because it's not a flat belt so I'll go see if I can find me a flat belt and put it in here in place of this tiny little square belt which doesn't give enough friction to drive from the motors to their flywheel. If you understand about the law of physics and Force and resistance and friction and all that. 17260881407989034379274452235167.jpg
Okay I'm done. I'm going to go look for a belt. I'm sure I have something this size.

113 mm flat belt I found maybe not exact but it works really nicely and it's not too tight. I'm just going to deoxit the controls and put it back together. I'm done.

14 September Saturday 2024 finally after going through zillions maybe 40 different motors. I finally got one that works here. It is actually playing. As I listened to the headphones?

I have my motors categorized in plastic bags. You know cw or CCW & different voltages and all that.
