Have the JDM National of the same model, buried at my balcony for a few years, need to dig it out and sell. A very nice model - I like its late 80s sharp style.
can't even remember, listened to it last time a long ago, but guess OK for its size. Looks - that's what I like most. Yep those are ports. Some old farts at my forum a long ago treated this model as a "new-build" not a real 80s BBX, had a kind of fight with them, I heard those opinions previously, those even thought it's from 90s but they are wrong.
Non-standard looking Stereo, that's mine, yeah I love its looks. Well made. Took those pics 6 years ago.
Great catch! I believe they were for sale in the US back then (as Panasonic), saw a few offers on Ebay nowadays.
The bottom ports are real, top ports are fake. And the subwoofer is actually a conventional round speaker, trying to look square.
I'm sure you were 'excited' about something else in the magazine though I keep seeing these on eBay, really like the looks of them too, but I've bought 2 boxes this month already...…
Hopefully you got some good ones lupogtiboy, I look at ebay UK once in a while and you have some unique models over there going for pretty good prices. I was on the hunt over at archive.org digging for ads and articles, the search engines stink so you have to look page by page so you don't miss anything.
I scored an Akai PJ-33 for £27, needs a little tlc and has a missing fast forward button, but it does work Also got a Panasonic RX FM27L in white for £10, needs a lot of tlc, belts, all sliders cleaned, cassette door is a little misshapen, but not seen one before so I thought it was worth a punt
From 1987, it was pretty expensive back then. http://www.video-koubou-topaz.jp/NATIONAL-PANASONIC-TECHNICAL-GUIDE-1987.html
There was a clear version, and one's for sale but you'll pay a lot for it. https://www.mercari.com/jp/items/m2...9_7BTK4VHTjfiRVbT01onGPInxsSFk3lv86-rnsHNIbUO
