    IMG_20201029_191514.jpg Hi,

Today I want tho share my recent adquisition: the Philips AQ6617, a headphone cassette player with tuner

A few years ago, I bought his brother AQ6613

I'm really proud of have them, because these two walkmans are a very rare items within the Philips line of products, Philips was mostly focused on budget and plastics walkmans

I´ve also included some pages of the 92-94 Philips catalogues, in both catalogues appears these walkmans

The button layot reminds of of the Aiwas.

Is that a metal body or painted plastic?

Yes, I think that Aiwa was under the development of this Philips walkman
All the controls/buttons layout is very similar and also the door's hook

The door is the only part made of metal, the rest of the body is plastic with a very similar look than the door

I've never seen these models but they definitely seem made by AIWA. Very curious indeed!

Holy cloneman, I don't have any Philips around here, maybe a random model somewhere but they were more often Magnavox Branding. I've been looking at the Magnavoxes Portables lately, most were just basic models but there were some gems.

@mankamaz thank you for sharing pictures! You really have desirable units! The Philips product line up from '93/'94 is very good looking. On my wish list too!

    Thanks Santioriginal!

Back in 1992 some Sony and Philips catalogues were the origin of my interest and love to these marvelous machines, Walkmans, discman, dccs and boomboxes

I still remember those days, never have gone
