Police tape equipment

    a friend of mine sent me this photo of a UK police interview recorder, a Neal 2-deck unit. What is interesting about these machines, used until 1992, is No Rewind or Play. They just have record. This is because once used they are sent for copy and transcript but the master is sealed to protect evidence.

    I’d be very interested in learning about these Police machines from around the world. Courtrooms still use tape all over the world, they are probably the biggest user of tape today.

    I'm pretty sure Techmoan made a video about these types of recorders on his youtube channel about a month or so ago.

    I watched that video, I think his was from the military. Yes that's an interesting unit but I wouldn't search one out, go all-in and get a JBR!
