So it’s not the 2018 sale, but I emailed the company and they honoured the sale for me. Not everything is still on sale, and there’s only certain colours available. But I got a silver Tomahawk for $200 delivered. Which is pretty good. I will also suggest he updates the sale page!
Nice enjoy. When I got my P-51 Mustang, I had it specially put together as I wanted it in Red and Black I had to pay extra. I think they now do it in Red and Black.
It’s fantastic for the money, and runs off AAA which is fine. I think it brings a certain character to my tape decks in terms of soundstage but actually it’s pretty lightweight. I think if you have a decently serviced unit you won’t need this, but then I think you won’t need it for any decent shape deck because you are using it to improve a signal. Taking the load off the built in headphone amp is useful when the amp is degraded, so after 30 years this will work better with some decks than others. It’s a lovely accessory, I’ll probably get the next level up like the mustang next time but I’m always a bit cautious in this regard. Buying amps like these is akin to buying a HDR tv with colours the human eye can’t even see, what’s more important is if you enjoy the film or music more. I like exploring the ecosystem so this is a good move for me
Hey speedy2.0 happy you like it. If you think with a good serviced unit, the headphone amp is not need then buying the next amp up in the list would not make a difference to you. You are better off saving your money and spending it on more cassettes instead. Anyway even though i have not listened the Tomahawk, i am sure you have a good unit there as Ray does not make rubbish amps. Enjoy.
