Hey! I've heard legends of people finding absolute audio gold in skips but never thought it would happen to me but the other day I had a look through one and managed to find a Tascam Porta One! It was raining that day so completely covered in water. I took it hope, opened it up and left it by the boiler for a few days. I then turned it on and it jumped into life! The only issue is, is that channel 2 doesn't seem to work, all the other channels are working great. Also, it only sometimes likes to play a cassette and other times won't at all as the pinch roller won't engage with the capstan. RW and FF work like a dream though. Does anybody have any experience with these machines? I can post pics of the inside later just seeing if anyone is able to help (^_^) Thanks a bunch!
