    Hi,

as suggested, I continue this in a new thread.

After repairing my Panasonic RQ-SX72, I found that the sound of slow music esp. classic is unstable (fluttering), and I was wondering what to do to fix that.

The belts have been replaced, all internal mechanics move smooth, and I treated the capstans with "Lenor" as advised. The pinch rollers habe been cleaned using Isopropanol. Still I can hear this fluttering.

The W&F measuering tape which arrived in the meantime does not sound so bad, but my experience with that in neglectable.

I found another RQ-SX which I purchased in Japan a while ago as refurbished, and it runs much more stable. (I did not try this one before because it would not turn on due to contact problems. Fixed that today.)

Any hints what I could try now to get rid of that fluttering (if it is called so) in the first unit?

    Thx in advance,
    Stefan B.
