This thread covers the battery replacement for the Samsung YP-K5J DAP. The original battery is an 830mAh, but I could not find an exact replacement hence I used an 800mAh 603040 LiPo battery instead which fits perfectly in the case. Dimensions are 40mm x 30mm x 6.5mm (length x width x thickness). Battery can be purchased here: https://www.ebay.com/itm/374386081278 I recommend keeping the original connector and its wires, but soldering the new wires directly to the PCB is also an option. It's very important to put the kepton tape back once you replace the connector and wires, as short circuits can result in a fire ! Here are the steps necessary to repalce the battery: 1. Remove the bottom pads which cover the 4 screws holding the hinge mechanism. 2. Remove the silver grill carefully, being careful not to bend it. 3. Remove the main flex cable going to the main unit. 4. Remove the 8 screws holding the speaker/battery assy together. 5. Separate the cover and remove the battery connector from the small PCB. 6. Remove the battery and desolder the old connector from its PCB. Pay very careful attention not to create any shorts with the soldering iron ! 7. Solder the old connector wires to the new battery protection PCB. Pay very careful attention not to create any shorts with the soldering iron ! 8. Install the new battery in the case and glue it to the case with a small drop of super glue. 9. Put the unit back together in the reverse order it was taken apart.
