I have a second SCR-8 that’s been dead for over a decade. A shame. So I bought a small, powerful, 12v Bluetooth amp and carefully wired it to the speakers. Laser cut a small discreet panel w a tiny power switch and power LED and tucked in on the bottom back of the radio. Looks tight and sounds absolutely incredible. Works off the 8D batteries or the internal AC transformer. If anyone has an intact LED sound meter panel, I’d sure appreciate it if you could tell me the ID numbers on the two IC’s. A hi-res pic would be even better. An EE friend of mine is going to help get those meters going hopefully. It’s a lot of work ripping the radio apart again just for the IC model numbers. Hoping someone has a spare panel out of the radio handy. A schematic would be awesome but I think that might be asking too much lol. I’ll post pics soon. Thanks!
Good luck with your project, it sounds like fun. The SCR-8 pops up once in a great while on here but I haven't seen one in years.
