Sears SR 2100 series model 560.2199-0350 service Just to be sure, this is the model number. And this is the entire back. The front it's got power sleep and off headphone jack volume balance mono stereo and wide metal capability recording volume for recording your own central levels. The function switch has a separate location for phono line radio and tape. It says base trouble and four vans AMFM shortwave one and two and a tuning knob. Then it has in the tuner window. It has a power, a tuning and an FM stereo LED light. Underneath the tuner it has left and right VU meters. And then the tape section has a tape counter. Ejects record mute and your apss button which stands for automatic program selection system. Your standard soft touch cassette controls and it doesn't have a selector for how many times it can select a song to skip. So I'm guessing it's only one song at a time that it will skip and that's it from the front. It's got woofers That measures 6 and 1/2 in in diameter and the tweeters are 1 and 1/2 in in diameter. I've checked it out. It all works but the tape counter doesn't roll so got to replace that, so next grouping will be. Let's get inside and check it out and replace whatever is necessary.
This group is unassembly and making minor notes. I believe the inside is Toshiba. Only one screw came out. The rest of the screws stayed with the chassis but did unscrew from the pylons. The speaker wires are the only wires connected to the front of the unit so I got a picture of how the wires plug in. Inside the main chassis on the power supply there is no fuse Inside the front showing the speakers from the back which are Toshiba at least on the woopers. I can't tell on the tweeters. Close up of the woofer so you can see the written on the back. Toshiba and. This got turned sideways but I'm trying to show you is the motor has a flat belt drive for the flywheel but in my opinion the flat belt is too narrow. In other words, it could be wider to last longer. Next, I'm going to remove the tape deck cassette player and investigate the belts and their condition. Meanwhile, the counter belt is definitely not worth a dime, so I'll be replacing that asap.
Interesting, the woofers on mine were Toptone 7-inch. Either way, if this box was built by Toshiba, that's ironic, because it sounds better than any Toshiba I've heard.
I changed all three belts. This is how You're just a speed or pitch on the motor by putting your jeweler driver into the center of the little sticker in the rear of the motor. There's a hole there. You can adjust the rotational speed. I use my favorite tapes for listing via headphones.
Okay on the inside the speakers measure 7 in across And the tweeters are piezo and really small And since it's sitting right here I did put in a new wider main drive belt Just a bit more tidying up and I'll put it back together
Lovely Radio, and wow i just saw the Voltage on the back, it can Actually Run on UK 230v, Extra Nice.
