The Sharp GF-7, also known as "The Searcher," is a compact and fashionable radio cassette recorder manufactured in Japan in 1982. It is a good example of the English saying "small, but mighty": despite its small size, it boasts impressive features and capabilities. Measuring 418 mm x 80 mm x 120 mm and weighing 2.4 kg only (without batteries), it provides 4W of power per channel, which is quite impressive for a device of its size and era. The frequency response of GF-7 is 40 - 16,000 Hz, indicating a broad range of audio reproduction capabilities, especially on metal tape. "The Searcher" is equipped with a V-shape telescopic antenna to enhance its functionality as a radio receiver. This antenna design helps ensure stable and high-quality radio reception, even in challenging conditions. Whether you are in an area with weak radio signals or face interference, the GF-7 aims to deliver reliable reception for an enjoyable listening experience.

Beautiful, I wouldn't sell it either, those are super rare around here. The Searcher applied to their high-end portables with song searching ability. That would make a great research thread, Sharp claims they invented it, I wonder if it was licensed out or other companies figured out a work-around?
