I had to turn my chair and look, my big Technics is the only round meter field recorder I have. Is it just me or is there a kind of hierarchy with meters? At the bottom are small square early 70's and then progressing up round is at the top? It might make a good thread!
Is it right, that the Sony equipment with round meters all is for portable use, for reporters ore similar ?
@Mister X there is no particular order, just stack them this way as it was safer @soluna they are all portable recorders.
Just going by memory, Carver I think uses round meters and newer Marantz for their components. What I meant was that the style of meter kind of dictates how nice the equipment is. It seems more equipment with round, like Nagra, are considered the best.
