Here I have for sale a SONY D-1000 Discman in need of repair. I bought it some time ago along with some cassette recorders, as seller was only selling as a pack (was only interested in the cassette recorders). PCB had some corrosion (unclear what caused it) which has been cleaned. Some supect solder joints have been re-done. Symptoms: laser powers on, it does focus search (lens going up and down), spindle motor sometimes runs slow and does not read ToC. It sometimes will read ToC and play a CD, but with skipping. I do not have the time to investigate the problem further, so I want to pass it on to someone else. Note that spindle is cracked and will need to be replaced, although I do not believe that is the source of the problem. No play in the bushings that I can feel with my hand. However note that does not necessarily mean motor is good. Cosmetic condition can be seen in pictures below. FREE including worldwide shipping.
