Sony D-350 / D-35 Discman with case and external 2AA battery holder gondola. All 12 hole-through capacitors replaced with Nichicon and Elna audio caps. New spindle motor. Does not skip. All repairs detailed in my old thread here: Sony D-35 Discman (1990) Capacitor replace and internals pics Comes with the old capacitors, original CR2016 battery (dead of course) and the original dead rechargeable battery. Nothing is broken. AA gondola fully intact. Battery cover perfect. Nothing snapped off. Case great with nothing broken or missing. Countless hours of detail cleaning inside the Discman top lid and under the buttons was done too. Not sure what to ask for this as e-bay is no longer a sensible gauge of reality in the price department. I paid $314US in May 2021, which was on the high side, but it was complete and local. So, even after repairs and perfecting it, I will sell for less than I paid, say $240US. Attached is a screenshot of e-bay when I bought it. Shipping anywhere in US, $25US? Just in case anyone here is interested in it. Screen shot of when I bought it
I would be interested in this, but I think $300 is a bit steep. Don't get me wrong, I am very respectful of the work you put into it, it looks great! ... but they simply aren't worth $300 currently. The pandemic saw a huge spike in prices for the older Discmans I think, and now that it's over, they have gone back to a normal rate thankfully. I sold so many refurbed Discmans (D-15, D-25) during 2020 and 2021 for stupid money, and now you just can't get that kinda cash for em. I saw a working D-9 sell for $30 this month... crazy. This D-35 is CIB, working and super clean... sold for $275 on Jan 7th. Granted it wasn't recapped as yours was, but it has the box, manuals, remote, and the other cords. Here's another... $170 working sold on the 17th of January. Again, not recapped, but both of these listings should give you a baseline. Good luck with the sale, and I hope this helps you with your pricing.
