There's an article on the CNN website today about the history of Sony, including a couple of photos of Walkmen. https://www.cnn.com/2024/12/14/tech/sony-stock-record/index.html
I'm glad they're "back" since a lot of forecasters over the last 20 years said they were one product away from being gone for good. In the USA, Sony is a generational product that has been widely known since the 60's and has had a great reputation all these years. I'd love to see one of those moving year bar graphs show audio/visual makers over the years and the countless mergers, buyouts and bankruptcies........
Fair to say Sony has been able to reinvent itself or change course to remain relevant and viable. I wonder if that article will cause an uptick in demand for the walkman.
All these articles help, a lot of the new members find their parents old Walkman's and want to have the same experience we had. If you look at the complexity of the nicer models, they must be kind of facinating to the youngsters and then you see them on ads and articles like this.
That was worth reading, thanks. While I am not a "Sony fan" it does appear I now own, predominantly, many of this brand name old products. Just because certain old electronics they once made have the specs I was looking for. And nice design looks too.
