Dear all, i am making a video using archive 300 Hitachi and TDK tapes of recorded Material originally using a Sony TCS 300 from the early to mid eighties. The video also uses a repaired Sony TCS 300 and the sound is a a combination the recorders built in speaker and original imported audio file to the timeline. My issue is that like a lot the TCS 300/ 310 has the fault of a broken plastic component that normally activates the fast forward and rewind mechanism. I have also taken apart a TCS 310 with an almost identical break in the part (see pic). Does anyone know of a reliable fix, i tried to secure the spring with a piece of picture wire, not precise enough. How about 3D printing? Or does anyone know of any other TCS models in range that share the same part for a cheap donor model? Also unlike the TCS 310 model the auto stop doesn't work on the TCS 300. Their mechanisms are slightly different in this department. Is this an easy fix? Any help appreciated
Incredible I found this site ... https://www.shapeways.com/product/Y...m-1-tcs-310?optionId=154264522&li=marketplace
I tried to order, the shipping costs more than the piece .... in the end it costs me more than the whole walkman ... too expensive
I recommend Gorilla Glue or epoxy & a cotton bud to hold it in place. I did that on my wm-dc2 walkman. The trick to get the piece to stay firmly in place is to use foam to make a base that holds all the components while the glue sets in.
