I recently bought another TPS-L2, for parts or repair since that's all you can buy at a "reasonable" price nowadays. when I got it there was an abnormal amount of wow and flutter. The middle belt pulley was warped and decayed by the old belt. I was wondering if there is anyway to replace it without getting a $300 donor.
In regard to sourcing the pulley alone, the chances are very slim. Would not even bother trying to source such a part unless I find a super cheap destroyed unit that is sold for 50$ or less. For reference, TCM-600, TPS-L2, WM-3, D6 and D6C all use that pulley. Sanding the pulley on the groove so the belt can ride smoothly it the thing to do (or at least try). I don't think the old belt caused this, looks more like someone melted it with the tip of a soldering iron. Have never seen such damage before and I serviced quite a few of these. It's certainly not a common problem on this mechanism.
