Hi group, I am trying to replace the belt on my EX48. Does anyone know the size of the proper belt? I bought a bundle of different sizes from Amazon but no matter which one I install, it just doesn't spin. I hear the motor turning but nothing else. Below is a picture of the path I am using.
Thank you in advance for your help!

Maybe capstan or other gears are not moving easily. Try to run the motor and try to manually stop the motor to see whether or not there is enough force to move the mechanical part. Then turn each gear manually to make sure they are moving/ rotating without any resistance. I don't think your problem is the size of the belt. wrong belt still can move the parts but with bad quality sound.

this is the link to the right belt:

I just took another look. I reinstalled the belt after making sure all gears rotated freely. It starts fine, but after a couple of seconds starts slowing down. Almost as if the motor overheats. I let it sit for a couple of minutes and then the same thing happens again. I can't test the motor trying to stop it manually since this motherboard has to be bolted to the chassis in order to run.
Does this mean I am out of luck?

I am not sure how to resolve your walkman issue. Try to run the motor directly with a 1.5V battery. This way you can tell whether or not motor is functioning well.
