Hi all walkman fans. Have just charged my Sony NC-6WM gumstick battery for the first time in over20+years using Sony charger BC-9HP2 which came with my mze-900 mini disc player. It charges- get about 3 hours play on my Sone wm- ex615. I drain battery completely then re-charge. My nh-14 battery charges as well.

    I concur!!... :)
my own success rate with 30y.o. gumsticks from Sony/Panasonic is the same as with fresh ones bought off eBay: 50/50
the only difference is that "real" gumsticks tell you they are dead right away, but new Chinese batteries die after one-two charges

Hi Jorge. I'm glad you've noticed the same thing. Never used these batteries before- either used ac adaptor or just simple aa's. Never used this charget before either. Still love my Sony wm-2 with good headphones using ac adaptor. Realkly good headphone amp. Thanks for your reply.

I have many old gumstick batteries. Some came with walkman in the box and never used (old stock) but I cannot find any of them in perfect condition. All of them have some form of discoloration. Do you think i can try to recharge them??

Hi Boodokhan. Mine were left in box for 20 odd years. No discolouration though. Try charging them but keep an eye on them. When charger light goes out-use them until completely drained-then charge again . Hopefully you may still get some charge out of them. This is my method- hope you are lucky. Keep me informed. Derek.
