    Hi all,
I recently bought a faulty WM-30 to restore and one of its faults is a missing window.
Does anyone have any experience reproducing these? I know it's a long shot but if anyone has either the artwork or can share their experience of making one I'd really like to hear from you.
My current idea is to reproduce the graphics in reverse and using a laser printer print it onto clear adhesive backed film. I'll stick this onto a piece of 1mm acrylic cut to the right shape.
Alternatively if anyone has a spare window, I'd love to hear from you.

One of our members ( @buzbox )has great experience with WM-30 acrylic window. You can ask him If he can share you the file which saves you the time.
I printed several acrylic window for AIWA, SONY and Toshiba walkman units. I gained a lot of experience on these tasks. You can read about my progress :

1mm acrylic is ideal (same thickness as original) , Make sure the design is printed on reverse side and most important thing is to use a laser cutter. The curvy pattern of WM-30 requires machine cut to avoid any possible cosmetic flaw.

    Thanks Boodokhan,
So did you have the image printed directly onto the acrylic? I know this would be the best way to do it, it's how Sony did it, but it would be too expensive for me as I only need one. Your windows look amazing, really well done. I want to see if printing onto self adhesive transparent sheet with a laser printer would give acceptable results. I'll send Buzbox a pm and see if he'd share his artwork.
    Thanks

Yes, I printed the image directly on acrylic . It has to be the mirror image. I didn't try adhesive but it might show good result. Good luck to you and keep us posted about your progress.

Thanks Boodokhan, I think if I print my own labels I can experiment a bit without costing much. It won't be as professional as yours that's for sure! I'll start making it once the new belt from Marian arrives and I've got it playing a tape.
The top of the player had received a knock at some point in it's life but some careful bending has got it straightened out. It's surprising how soft the metal is. Some careful touch-ups with a black paint pen has really helped cover up the wear marks. I'll post some photos later.
