Decided to get back into personal stereos/walkmans again so snagged a few from ebay.

One or two I bought on a whim, knowing they are not 100%. Up for the challenge of making at least one
    work perfect or near-perfect.

So I recently acquired a Sony WM-36. I know these are not great, bit bargain-basement-ish but it looked
    clean and tidy enough.

It works! plays, directions, volume, headphone jack is ok. Even the belts are ok I assumed they would be
    tar but no...

But it does have a problem! the motor makes one hell of a racket! it is mechanical, rattly, almost as if something
is hitting one of the drive wheels? but no nothing! I pulled the drive belt and spun the motor and the noise remains.

It is the motor! now is this just a poor design that has aged and thats that? I am thinking about what other sony's used the same
mech inside and thought about swapping the motor out.

Im not 100% bothered, but if I could source something from even a wreck/tatty unit thats is almost the same then I am up for it.

Anyone have any ideas? Thanks :)
