I managed to purchase last week a SONY WM-850 which has a remote control which uses a Sony nickel cadmium battery NC-4WN to charge the remote handset .The set is boxed in reasonable condition and came with the Walkman the headset and the remote and two batteriess. One is a normal gum-stick which is no problem but ,as I have said, the other is a much smaller gum -stick (about half the size of a normal gum stick ) No NC-4WN. The amazing thing is that this battery has charged up and the machine functions as it should and you can walk round with the walkman in your pocket briefcase or car with the headphones feely attached to the remote to listen and operate the machine which is quite cool. In a way it is kind of predecessor of bluetooth head phones . My worry is I have never seen this type of battery before and I can not find one on the internet or any reference to it .Does anyone know this type of battery and even better know how to obtain one? .Is there any way of manufacturing one somehow? Any thoughts greatly appreciated

    Hi Jorge

I have at last managed to find two more sites who ship internationally from Hong Kong .I was using the wrong details for the search as I was using the old Sony registration number rather than the xeric type of gum-stick battery .Here is one of the sites I have found .I have asked for postage costs for say 10 to UK .THANKS ONCE AGIAN FOR YOUR HELP IN PUTTING ME ON THE RIGHT TRACK FOR THE SEARCH
