Sony WM-DD9 Mystery Part

    Hello.
    I was putting a capstan tire on a WM-DD9 and after disassembling the forward play capstan clutch inside of the unit, I saw this part but cannot figure out from where it came. I closely checked the exploded part views/illustrations in the service manual, but could not identify it.
    Does anyone know what this part is/does if it’s from a WM-DD9?

    That part goes on the REV flywheel bracket, see picture attached.
