Hello! I'm trying to fix Sony WM-DDIII. There is a broken part described in service manual as T701 1-447-697-00 TRANSFORMER, DC-DC CONVERTOR. Anyone knows where could I find/buy this part? Or maybe replace it with something else?
Hello and welcome to the forum ! Post in the "Gear you want" section. I recommend asking for a replacement PCB, as the chances of finding just that transformer are slim to none. And no, you can't replace it with something else, cause it's a custom made part. You may also look for a donor unit that has a different problem like: - missing mechanical parts; - case damaged/dented beyond repair (but not on the corner with transformer); - missing buttons and screws; For parts units are much cheaper than so-called "working ones". Put that in quote marks because all DDs will have a broken center gear, despite many sellers won't mention it. P.S.: It's better to use the "Upload a File" button on the bottom right and upload pictures just to the specific thread when asking a technical question, as the picture is not relevant on the forum's gallery.
