So I finally managed to fix the battery problem on my F28, so it's time to look at the next problem: The headphone jack.

It makes bad contact to all headphones I tried to use, and I always have to press against it with quite a lot of force to make both channels work correctly. If i just plug it in, they work only let's say 1 and 1/3rd, so one channel is good while the other one is barely audible and missing a lot of frequencies.

The walkman was barely used, so I don't think it was damaged by stress. Does anybody have an idea what it could be?

Are the headphones you're using ones with a microphone built in? I've found on some with the 3 pole plugs that if you push it in the whole way, one channel sounds quieter, but if you have the plug about 3/4 way in it sounds fine.
