Therefore the result of course is one side of the tape plays backwards as the head doesn't switch over. Also, the the display shows the REV direction despite what direction the tape is playing. Incidentally, that's the side that plays correctly. I found a YouTube video (3-part series) on this very same walkman with the exact same issue. Cool...so, I thought. But in the case of the fx43 in the video, it ended up being corrosion that ate away at part of a trace near the Dolby switch that lead back to either a transistor or IC (can't recall atm). However, in my case, there is no corrosion and traces all seem to check out. Does anyone here happen to know of this issue on this or similar models? Just want to get some ideas before spending any more time on this otherwise insignificant walkman. Thanks!
