Hey! I got a WM-FX56 in a job lot. It's an OK walkman, nicer than the belt clip 'ride on the school bus' plastic models but not as nice as the wm-ex670 style models. None the less I'd love to get it working again. Tape not moving, opened it to find a very slack belt BUT when I press play none of the comonents move at all. I'm used to seeing a broken belt but at least something move but this one is showing no signs of life apart from a few function beeps from the headphone amp, the battery light is illuminated (with fresh full new batteries) and some text on the screen. I'm thinking about ordering the belt but not sure if that will do anything. Or is it normal in this model for nothing to turn unless a belt is on there? Come to think about it the brass wheel on the motor could have been turning and I didn't notice. I'll check when i open her up again.
