I picked up this red Sony ZX-5 boombox. It is fully working and sounds great but the cassette door has a broken hinge and the plastic is missing. Does anyone has this model to post a pic of the cassette showing the right hinge closeup thanks
Post info if you fix it, I have a couple boomers with the same issue and I've been thinking of ways to fix it. I'm wondering if you could make an imprint in clay, put a metal post in the clay and pour a new section which would epoxy to the old plastic. You'd grind off the post on the clay side so the side was smooth. The plastic is weldable but it might be too small, I don't know if they make micro welders, a 3Doodler might also work and solvent welding might be a possiblility.
