Tandberg Model 41

    Tandberg's 1970 Radio would have made a great boombox, the front is wood and it's a very nice looking radio, sadly very rare in the US.

    Oh I've been thinking the same thing. The Tandberg TP41 would be a beautiful high-end-looking boombox with those teak-details. Sadly Tandberg only made standard-looking cassette decks, or top-loading type cassette decks.
    They also made the Tandberg AT 771, a portable mono cassette recorder. But sadly its just that, and not with a radio, and only gray plastic.

    The Tandberg TP41 sells for around 50 dollars here in Norway, and they're pretty easy to find :)
