Just picked this up today for £20, fully working and in great shape. Anyone here have much experience with this beauty? The record mechanism seems weird, I am still waiting on cables and a USB sound card to arrive but to my knowledge the record button needs to be pressed simultaneously with play or else it doesn't record, although it does not seem to have much travel either way. Despite that the buttons and knobs are all very responsive, the fluorescent meter is really superb for showing levels and the auto tape select is a much appreciated feature! Can't wait to start recording some tapes with this, needed an upgrade from the Bush deck that has been sitting in my house for close to 20 years now :)

Play and record together is standard on about 90% of cassette decks especially ones with mechanical buttons. To quote Kylie Minogue when asked about "Home taping is killing Music" on her sounds of the 80s inyterview. "I was the one with my fingers on Play and Record of my mono Radio Cassette Recorder".

Thanks for the info. My old Bush just worked using the record button so I wasn't sure how valid that was... But if Kylie Minogue is vouching for it :p
