    Hi from wintry New Zealand

I recently acquired this walkman which was intended as a companion piece to a fully restored KTV-880 / KT-4088 (with box and remote!).

This one has a great radio, and with a new belt (after much tar removal) the tape transport is all good... except there's no FF/RW.

The FF & RW buttons are lightly sprung buttons mounted in the lid. The underlying structure which they should interact with has been broken off, along with the ribbon cable that carried the signals, and discarded. I have a bad history with ribbon cables but I'm prepared to try and fix this if I can find a donor machine with the right parts.

If you can help, please get in touch. I will pay reasonable costs. Alternatively, if you are restoring the same machine with a different problem then I might be persuaded to help your cause and part with mine.

Thanks in advance if you can help.
    Nick
