Hello all! Recently I got a well kept boombox, Toshiba RT-8490S. I would like to make a complete service and restoration, since it looks good (that's why it was overpriced IMO) but I can not find any information about this... :-(

After an external clean, I have to:
Replace FM antennas (one is broken)
Replace tape and counter belts (tape moves but loose speed after some seconds)
    Internal check and clean
    Head and capstan clean
    Speed measure and adjustment

If someone knows something for this or similar model, please help!

You posted in the wrong place (walkman). There is a section dedicated to boomboxes, called Boombox & Ghettobaster. You should post there and require an admin to delete this one.

People who know about boomboxes are going to read that section and not this one, so it's more likely to find an answer there.
I also suggest to ask for something more specific, like a service manual or how to make a specific adjustment.

Good luck with the restoration process !

I don't know how to delete this post, since it's in wrong section (new here).

I think only admins can delete threads. Either ask an admin to move or delete it (MisterX for example) or Report it.

I think I can move it, I just saw there is a "move" button, but I have to head back to work...
