Found this beast in the trash! Need a needle and some work on the tape deck.

Do you think this thing worth the money and the time he need for work again?

What is the value of this player you think? (in perfect condition)Anyone have seen one before?

That is awesome! I'd get that up and running properly if it were me, I've never seen one before.

It is a great machine. Well worth the trouble of repairing it.

Those are great statement pieces and would be perfect for any hipster with a small apartment or condo. I remember that style being mostly aimed at young professional women and the build quality was mid-line; I think most audiophiles dismissed them as novelties but they've really aged well, especially if you like early 80's high-tech plastic bodied units. Most of the development money was put into the design and engineering since it was not only a vertical turntable but it was also linear tracking.

I've got a few mid-line linear tracking tables and they all require going through the tracking mechanism and cleaning the assembly and gears to make sure they move as intended. If you have the space, it's a keeper, otherwise they tend to hover around $300 USD.

I've seen one twice in my life...
In the background of the electronics department scene in "Splash", and behind the counter of a now long-gone mini-golf/driving range I visited one night with a friend.

Hard to say what behind the counter there got my attention more that night: The Bitsu... or the cute girl in fitted, cami-style halter top!

I would guess that the average buyer would be a woman approaching 40 wanting to relive her youth.
