    Hi there
My WM-10 works great except for this constant buzzing motor noise in the audio.
Of course this means new caps but the ones in the WM-10 are of an odd elongated shape.
Does anyone know where to get 220uf caps in this shape? they need to be Thin enough to fit in the Walkman.
Pictured below in of a WM-10 capacitor compared to my smallest 220uf cap (much too thick).
    thanks. 20200722_133201.jpg

I would replace with surface mounted tantalum capacitors if you can't find any electrolytics.

Migilus Migilacuty and Machaneus like this.

Are those really interchangeable with electrolytic capacitors? and will those have any affect on the sound quality?

Yes they are interchangeable. No, they won't make much difference to the sound quality. Some audiophiles might disagree but I doubt you'll notice the difference. I do prefer using electrolytic capacitors to keep the design as original as possible but where unavailable I'll use tantalums or even ceramic caps.

What size is the original capacitor?
The smallest 220uF I found are 5mm in diameter.
