New issue at hand, the rewind button on my DC2 disengages after a few seconds or sometimes immediately. The play, FF, and stop buttons are working perfect.

I followed this amazing thread by Valentin: https://stereo2go.com/forums/threads/sony-dd-series-play-ff-rew-buttons-not-latching.7524/

Which seemed to make everything function so much smoother but did not fix the rewind button disengaging?

Here is a video of what it is doing when rewind is pressed:

My previous problem of sound issue has been solved by flipped the top of the volume pot which was likely placed backwards when repairing. New issue is rewind button keeps disengaging?

Okay so what I have found so far is this hook is not catching this arm in the rewind position but catches in the play and FF position just fine? If I manually nudge it to catch while rewinding, it continues to rewind perfect.

After disassembling, cleaning, and reassembling yet again the rewind seems to be working but without the hook catching that arm? in both play and FF it moves in order to catch but not in rewind mode. At least now it is working to rewind without disengaging. If someone with more knowledge can tell me if this is a problem that should be addressed now or will it be okay working without the arm catching?
