    Hi,

I received a WM-R707 and starting taking the caps off all of which had leaked. I got a dreaded pad tearing up on the last one! damn it. This is my worst nightmare as I initially thought it would be very hard to fix.

Does anyone happen to have a service manual for this model per chance?

The trace has been pulled up a little to the right of the pad but still seems strong:

I retrieved the pad which looks fine:

I watched this chap who does an amazing job repairing solder pads on an Amiga:

I just wondering if any of you have any tips on best approach to fix this kind of thing? and maybe what epoxy has worked for you sticking new pads back on?

the chap in the video above mentions using - CircuitWorks CW2500 which is known as an overlay, but he used it under the pad as well. seems very expensive stuff!

Sorry, I checked all my free sources and didn't see a manual.

Are there any through-vias on that missing pad? From the photo it looks like there might be some. Sometimes the vias are only there for mechanical strength but it's something to check.

The pad in question does not have any via's on it. The one to the right of it certainly does just above it.

But sticking it up to the light I found it's route underneath the switch

So I guess the easy way out would be just connect a little wire from capacitor around to that connection and ignore the ratty remains of original pad trace wire. But I'd like to try and repair properly with a replacement pad. maybe I'm a glutton for punishment! but I'll give it a go with some type of epoxy and maybe some fresh copper foil.

I'll put some pics up of my attempts.
