Hello! I am wanting to make a live stereo recording of my vocal group onto cassette, and I’m trying to decide where to put my money. I have each of these decks - the tascam is fully functioning but the other two need some repairs. I’ve had a chance to try the WMD6C and it sounds wonderful, but is proving much harder to find a technician here in the US. I’m wondering if it makes sense to do an easier and maybe cheaper repair of the TC158SD or if it is worth it to bring the WMD6C up to speed. Or I could just use the tascam. I’m only recording two tracks through an AT822. thanks for your suggestions and knowledge!
Also if anyone has any technician suggestions in the US, especially for the WMD6C, I’d much appreciate it!
For recording live music I think the Tascam is way more capable with its 4 separated channels, dual speed and all sort of features. the D6C records so well but you have very few controls. My two cents.
Not in the U.S. but try Deb64, who is also on Tapeheads. Her talent with WM-D6 and D6C units is legendary!
