Yet another fantastic D6C restoration by Deb64

Evening everybody,

Just wanted to take the time to write up the benefits of a very well restored and improved Version 4 D6C.

I know lots of voices say the version 1 with the pointy head is the best D6C version, however I took a very short drive over to see Debbie (Deb64) today to pick up my Version 4 that she had just finished servicing, restoring whilst also replacing the Op Amp with NE5532. This version, cosmetically being very good, almost new looking. It is a really late model missing the Amorphous head decal at the front with an unmarked, I assume 75312? head.

Now I've listened to this for the past 3 hours and have to say sound quality is absolutely exceptional, the music in the best way I can describe has some real gravitas and depth better than my current unrestored version 1. I need to stop listening to it now and get on with my day, but it keeps pulling me back!

Just wanted to share and I guess in order to get the very best out of these units is say, irrespective of what version you have a service is essential.

It's fantastic to read such reports Now... you know what has to be done... the other version 1 that you have will need the same treatment one day. Right?
