i have a couple of vz 2000's now and i am wanting to start some restoration , it would be good to know anyone who has done this before so as i can ask a question direct if i run into any problems with dismantking ,
or if people that have stripped these boxes for clean up could post here any issues i may come across ,
many thanks jason

ive worked on a few of them, not a lot goes wrong with them, deck belts most always need replacing
IVE REDONE A FEW AS WELL... NOT TO HARD
well i prepared the living room for a comfy workspace, and yes, i got the screwdriver out ,,
it was actually pretty straight forward , took loads of pics as i took it apart , the main dirty bit was the frequency readout , but going further into the stripdown uncovered what looked like the inside of a vacume cleaner ,,
these things are dust magnets lol,,
will start cleaning tomorrow ,any recomended cleaning solutions ???
before stripping i had the prob of very low slight volume , may be blown speakers or a prob with the amp board , as it was on radio and tape,
found the rotten tone arm belt straight away ,, cannot see any belt for the turntable yet , i may need to strip the turntable mech further to actually see it i think ,,
warm water and dish soap always works for me. get some deoxit for all the electric contacts, that stuff is great.
i will have to try the kfc towels , seems a good free source of cleaner and cloth ,
