hey all...what a lovely day in UK....not.....throwing it down..anyway enough idle talk...can anyone shed some light on my problem....i have a sharp gf 777 and when i put a line in, the sound is a lot lower than tape and radio.....all help appreciated.....bush

I had the same problem with mine and found that the little line in/phono switch on the back was dirty, move it back and forth a few times and see if it helps, worked on mine.

Yeah..... I remember that on mine as well. But me, doing what Fuzzyduck did did not work for mine. I had to take the whole 777 apart to clean the contacts on my tape/radio/phono-line in selector.... And the cleaning had to be TOTAL removal of the selector, opening it up and manually cleaning, for it was REALLY dirty!!!

yeah i have alot of sharp boxes,and all of them suffer with the same problem,the switch on the back,the one that switches from aux to phono,thats always dirty,loose and knackered,i tried spraying with contact spray,it sort of works for a short time then goes again..i'de either change the switch or bypass it by soldering a bridge accross the contacts on the board so its perminently set to aux,you could clean it but i reckon it would only knacker up again after a while..

IVE NOT GOT ROUND TO CLEANING THE SWITCHES YET OR THE BANK OF POTS (ECCO, MIX ETC)THAT THE VU`S RUN THROUGH, ......ITS GONE INTO THE OVERHAUL DEPARTMENT OF MY LOFT ALONG WITH THE OTHER 777 AND NUMEROUS OTHERS ......BUT I HAVE BOUGHT ONE OF THOSE TRICKY DIGITAL TAPE THINGS......ITS THE SAME SIZE AS A CASSETTE AND YOU PUT AN SD CARD IN THE TOP LOADED WITH TUNES. WHEN YOU PRESS PLAY ON THE DECK IN CONNECTS WITH THE HEAD ON THE DIGI CASSETTE AND TRANSFERS THE MUSIC THROUGH IT............PRETTY COOL.......GET EM ON THE BAY VIA CHINA.....£14 INC P&P

dave how many 777s have you got ? sounds like 2 or 3,fuzzyduck is after another 777,hers has chrome rott around the control panel/tuner window,she mainly needs a clean case with a nice front..

The switch is still an intermittent problem on my 777 but not too bad.
Another thing you could try is swapping your line in leads over. Red plug to the white socket, white one to the red. This also helped me with the low volume problem.

hey GM...ive only got 2 777`s but none are for sale.........sorry mate......im thinking of modding one of them with coloured spkrs like gld has done....thats after ive taken the bank of pots out and give em some TLC.......has anyone done this maintenance and if so ...is it easy???????????
