I´ve got a problem with on of my radios. When I switch to tape mode there is a deep and loud buzz sound in the right speaker. And I dont have any sound from the cassette. Radio works perfect on all bands but the buzzing starts when I switch to tape.
Any ideas whats the cause of this problem and how I can fix it? The boombox just arrived and I didn´t open it yet.

Switches might need cleaning.
Check the wires conecting the tape head.

A long switch gets ingaged by the record button.

Its not the switch. I cleaned it and there are 6 positions: Phono/Line, Tape, FM, MW, LW, SW and the buzzing only starts when I switch to Tape end ends when I switch back.
I will check the tapehead.

It works again. It was a loose ground wire.
