Not trying to dampen your day but..the other thing it could be is either a cracked board,or blown amp chip..could be the problem...hope its not though..
when i first turned mine on and nothing came out i thought it was dead - then i saw that when tuning the dial it was picking up fm stereo but still no sound ? took one of the spaekers apart looking for loose wires - nothing ? so i opened up the box and saw dust on every thing - didn't give it good clean just blow out most of the dust - then tried it and it started coming back to life - next is to clean inside
so is thee any sign that it powers up ? but with no sound - no crackle on power button if pressing slowly ?
hello bendy/getto/all
ive had a message from the owner - member boom on here who says he suspects its a loose wire in the speaker boxes as when he attatches my 2 panasonic speakers to the saisho the saisho unit works throough the panny speakers- so cant be amp problem etc ?
anyway ive got myself really fed up with life at the moment (monumental girlfriend problems) so a little project will keep me going i think!

hey all
after recieving my panny and saisho yesterday i got to looking at the saishos speakers. took back off, was filthy inside just like bendy said it would be. gave it a good blow out, gave the connection ports for the speakers a good blow out, and hey presto....1 speaker working now! im gonna mess about a bit with the other one today and see if i can get that going. unfortunately at the mo the 1 speaker sounds terrible and doesnt go too loud yet witout distortion. im hoping as and when i get the other one going that will clear things up. the non working one has its phono end all loose an splitting. do you think i should just cut the phono plug off, and use the wires bare like i have the other side?
let me know!

yup, the (rare) big Saisho that I was after was all but DOA, but after plenty of TLC it was back in business:
