Sharp gf9595 battery problem ?!?

banana95 - 2009-09-27 14:38

Hi,have recently got myself a gf9595 and it works, but not for long... Frown The problem is, the screen for the tuner/clock/functions seems to go blank,or fade away after a couple of minutes even with brand new 'AAA' batteries installed. It does come back to life again if i take the batteries out, and stick the same ones back in again (i guess resetting it). This resetting takes a few attempts, as more often than not when i put the AAA batteries in, the boombox emits a high pitched alarm sound, (like the bleep sound u get when pressing the tuner buttons, only a constant tone). Any help from someone who knows this boombox would be greatly appreciated, thanks

hey banana.......this is just a stab in the dark but does it have a small internal battry that needs replacing.....they usually keep the time even with no power to the unit...it may need replacing....only a guess....good luck

Thanks for your guess davebush, but these are the small batteries in the unit that keep the time, with no power etc that i'm having the problem with Frown
Unfotunately the gf9595, needs the power from these AAA batteries when plugged into the mains as well, otherwise theres no display/tuner etc Mad
Its almost as though after a short time it stops drawing/accepting the charge from the brand new batteries
As for the reason it emits the high pitched tone i just dunno, maybe theres something in the manual/instructions, which i don't have! thanks again

Does anyone have, or know where i can get a pdf of a manual, schematics etc, for the sharp gf-9595?

Thanks Smile

You mention AAA batteries.
The 9595 needs AA batteries.
These keep the clock running + the tuner presets
