Magnavox D8443 - help!

picked one of these up last year and it's done me pretty well so far, but as of late it seems like the cassette player is playing too slow the majority of the time. i've switched the batteries out hoping that this was the issue but the problem still remains. any way i can fix this? i'm kind of an amateur with this kind of equipment but with some help i might be able to mess around with its guts and figure something out. it would be better than not getting any use out of it.

also, one of the pegs on the battery cover broke off and doesn't stay on as well as it used to. not nearly as concerned with this as it's what i'd imagine duct tape to be for, but is there anywhere i could pick one up without having to purchase a whole new unit?

thanks a lot for the help guys, if there's any help to be had with this issue. i need to get back to making other people listen to my music as often as possible before summer is out.

hi there COL and welcome, i don,t know much about the tech side of these machines, but i imagine the tapes running slow because it needs a new belt Nod Yes there,s plenty of great members here who will know where you can get one.
i don,t know if your in the uk?? but if you are you can buy a glue called loctite, no need for duct tape No No this glue is fairly cheap and bonds pretty much anything in seconds, it would be great for your battery door.
i have used it on a number of things and believe me once it has bonded it will be bonded forever Nod Yes you just gotta watch you don,t get it on your fingers cos they will be stuck together instantly Laugh Out Loud sorry mate but that,s about all i can do for you Wink
