Yo Brian , did you connect an external speaker to the right output? Is so , was the sound the same?
If the sound was the same i would try to replace the amp chip output capacitors C 525 and C526(1000µF/16V) maybe you can replace C 521 and C 522 too if you have the soldering iron on anyway . Oh yeah these last two are 100 µF /16V
I would not keep playing the box like this for too long . You may toast the amp chip or the speaker coil

I figured it was the amp chip (another guy on Boomboxery said the same thing).

I am going to go on the net and or ebay and see if i can find some capacitors and amp chips...

I got some work to do here... but the 9595 is easy to dig in to!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yep the GF 9595 is the box that caused me a lot of grief , you remember. Now i'm a GF 9595 expert

I just pulled out all my donor circuitry boards from 9191s and M80s and they have most capacitors needed (hope it is just that and not the amp chip)!

I am going to do it tomorrow!

Right.... 80% of the condensers changed, and... NOPE!!!

Cleaned a switch that could have been a prob, nope!

So, next is the amp chip!

I have "HA 1392" for the amp chip, is that correct?

If replacing the capacitors doesn't help the amp chip must be shot. Yep it's a HA 1392

For you and Pascal (in France) got my last 9595 donors... I am out of 9595 doning -do not think that is a word.

Sorry Brian , all i found is a transformer , a main PCB , speakers and the DC/DC converter .As you may remember the tuner and amp board of my silver GF 9595 were cracked. I have thrown all that junk in the bin a few years ago

Okay.... Amp chip found on line, but I have 2 that I did not remember of (from my 777 donor).

So, I can now say Right, it is not the amp chip. So I spent another full half day taking ALL apart; From the amp chip to the volume sliders to the SNRS switch etc... And nothing! Still the same cracking noise!!!!

AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!!!!!!!

And the contacts in the headphone - and speaker out connectors? These OK ?

Have not checked those yet....

I am going to France tomorrow, so will check upon my return!

I am back from France...

I was contacted while in France by a German member on Boomboxery.

I must thank every one for their ideas and help (Eddy ) and thank in a very high voice the member on the other sight for his help as well!!!

He guided my dumb ass thought the possibilities, and he found that it was the IC chip 204!!!!!!

I took the chip out, and now the 9595 works (the volume is low because of this missing amp chip, but the cracking is GONE!!!!!!)

I am going to try and order one from an on line store.
